I’m Sheila, an Executive Assistant with over 40 years’ experience, most recent role being EA for the CEO of a large accounting firm in Johannesburg.  I understand the importance of providing excellent administrative support.

About Me

Hi

I started my career with a quantity surveying practice in London, and then moved to South Africa where I joined Price Waterhouse.  I worked in various divisions as PA, finishing as EA to the PwC Africa CEO.  I’m now looking for the opportunity to provide the same services to senior executives to make their lives easier, on a full- or part-time basis.

 

I am committed, motivated and have the experience to add value in any environment.  I’m proud of what I have achieved but, rather than take my word for it, check my testimonials.

 

My Career

  • 1973 to 1974 – Secretary to directors of small import/export business, West Indies
  • 1974 to 1976 – Secretary to firm of quantity surveyors, Piccadilly, London
  • 1976 – (married and emigrated to South Africa) worked in several temp roles in Johannesburg
  • 1977 – joined Price Waterhouse HR division as secretary
  • 1980 – transferred to become personal assistant to Senior Partner, Stewart Patterson
  • 1987 – moved with Stewart Patterson to newly created Forensic Services division
  • 2000 – on Stewart Patterson’s retirement, I became Executive and Admin Assistant to the lead partners and team in Forensic Services division
  • 2013 to 2019 – Executive Assistant to Hein Boegman, Southern Africa CEO and head of Mining division, and then elected Africa CEO in 2015
  • 2019 to 2021 – Executive Assistant to COO (Fulvio Tonelli retired June 2021), Clients & Markets Leader (Michal Kotze), General Counsel partner (Anton du Randt)

I have been lucky enough to work in an environment where change was a constant and as the executive changed so did my role as a PA.  I found the most rewarding roles to be those where the partners I worked for could depend on me to perform.  I took on many projects which I saw through to conclusion.

I have the ability to work independently as well as collaborating with a team and am responsive to different personalities.

I have an extensive vocabulary, language is my strong point and I particularly enjoy proof-reading, copy editing and formatting documents.
